Learn About Law - Q&A

Can my son sign on behalf of my corporation for everyday business operations (leases, banking, checks) ?

One of my sons is getting more involved in the everyday business operations of my construction, property management, real estate corporation and I would like him to be able to sign on behalf of the company. Is there an easy form that can be filled out to give him this power?

A corporation is a separate legal entity. As long as your son is an adult, the corporation can appoint him as an additional signatory on its bank accounts. Talk to your banker to obtain a signature card and document the authority granted to your son in the corporation's board minutes (or by written consent).
