To date, there are nearly 600 attorneys and various legal organizations in the county providing education and services to their neighbors. These organizations include:

• Tyler Area Association of Legal Professionals

SCBA members are thoughtful, dedicated, and committed citizens, who share a vision to improve their community. These attorneys provide a better understanding of the legal system and increase public accessibility to justice for all Smith County residents.

Each year, the SCBA offers programs to educate the Smith County youth about the justice system, individual rights, and legal responsibilities. Also, members of the SCBA donate countless hours of pro bono legal services to citizens in need.

Specifically, SCBA members volunteer to promote legal education and supply legal services to the community through programs such as:
