The El Paso Bar Association was established in 1897 and is a voluntary bar association, open to all attorneys licensed to practice in Texas and in the United States. The Bar Year runs from July 1st to June 30th. For membership information see membership. The elected Board of Directors governs the association and meets on the first Tuesday of the month from September to June. The Bar Office is located at 500 E. San Antonio, Room L-115. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our phone number is (915) 532-7052. The Association holds its monthly luncheon meeting on the second Tuesday of the month from September to June at the El Paso Club, 201 E. Main, 18th Floor.

The name of this association shall be the El Paso Bar Association. It is organized for the advancement of justice and the science of jurisprudence, the advancement of the professional interests of persons licensed to practice law, the preservation of high standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession, the improvement of relations among the judiciary, legal profession and the community.

The El Paso Bar Association Bar Foundation (the Foundation) is a charitable organization formed under the auspices of the El Paso Bar Association. The Foundation was established in 1999 to support and expand its commitments to “justice, service and professionalism” by funding important community projects. These projects include crucial legal services to needy citizens and education of the public about their rights and responsibilities under the law. The Foundation has been granted a tax exemption under Section 501c(3) of the Internal Reveune Code. The voluntary tax-deductible contribution by its members supports the Foundation and its programs. The goals of the Foundation are to support, promote and encourage activities for the furtherance of justice and legal education through the sponsorship and encouragement of legal research, publication, forums and the establishment of scholarships, assistance of the institution and maintence of legal aid facilities for the indigent or working poor and the acceptance of aid and grants from government and private sources and the extension of financial assistance to attorney or members of an attorney’s family who are “in need” as defined under the IRS regulations.
