The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association is an organization made of lawyers, law students, business leaders, and educators residing and/or working in Broward County. It was founded in 1989 as a forum for Hispanic lawyers to address issues of importance in the community. As the organization gained respect and recognition within the legal community, the rank and diversity of its membership increased accordingly. Many of the organization's past presidents and members are also highly respected members of the Broward County judiciary.
The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association is well known for its commitment to community advocacy and involvement. It has long championed the rights of immigrant groups to have greater access to our judicial system. The organization continually strives to serve its community through projects such as Habitat for Humanity, Holiday toy drives, literacy campaigns, and its annual scholarship gala. Its effort to serve the needs of its community have led to alliances with local and statewide voluntary bar associations. It is also a proud founding member of the Florida Hispanic Bar Associations.
The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association works directly with local government officials, state legislators, and members of the judiciary to address current issues that affect the residents of Broward County. The organization welcomes members of all races, religions, ethnicities, and nationalities.
