The Broome County Bar Association, located in Binghamton, New York, was incorporated on April 23, 1906. The objectives of the Association are to:
- advance the science of jurisprudence,
- promote reforms in the law,
- facilitate the administration of justice,
- serve the public,
- elevate the standards of integrity, honor and competence in the legal profession and particularly of the practicing lawyer,
- and promote a spirit of collegiality among its members.
We provide information and services to our 475 regular and 80 associate members and the legal community, and the general public, such as:
- Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
- Recognition and awards,
- Committees which deal with substantive law, the courts and special programs,
- Information on professional standards through our Professional Ethics and Grievance Committees, which promote the highest standards of professional conduct
- The Bar Notes, a monthly publication for our membership, and
- Lawyer Referral Services, a program designed to assist the members of the general public in locating attorneys suited to their individual legal needs.
