About Me

"I founded The Carlyle Appellate Law Firm, and co-founded The Florida Appellate Alliance after serving as a staff attorney at Florida’s Fifth District Court of Appeal. I practice complex civil appellate litigation in state and federal courts, and a significant portion of my work is in the family law arena. I am board-certified in appellate practice and I am a certified circuit court and appellate mediator. I am AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has consistently been selected as one of Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite and as a Florida Superlawyer in appellate practice. I also serve as Vice Chair of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Certification Committee, and served on the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Section where I chaired the Outreach Committee. I have lectured and written on issues important to appellate courts and practitioners. I am a member of The Florida Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, and the Marion County Bar Association. I earned my J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law where I was associate editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and my B.A., cum laude, from the University of Central Florida.
Although the firm practice is statewide, I am active in my local community. I currently serve on the board of directors of First Green Bank, the first environmentally focused bank in the Southeast, the Hans and Cay Jacobsen Foundation, and The Villages Charter School Buffalo Scholarship Foundation. I also served as Vice President of Habitat for Humanity of Lake County, Inc., as well as on the organization’s board. I was also a member of Leadership Lake County and served as President of the Class of 2001."
